Statistical Office in Zielona Gora belongs to public statistic services subordinated to the Central Statistical Office and acting on the base of:

&  law dated 29th June 1995 on public statistic (Journal of Laws No. 88, item. 439 with later amendments),

&  instruction No. 4 of the President of the CSO dated 15th October 1998 on detailed scale of duties and organization of Statistic Offices (Journal of Laws No. 14, item 94),

&  instruction No. 17 of the President of the CSO law dated 16th December 2008 on specjalization Statistical Offices(not publish),

& statute Statistical Office in Zielona Gora on the strength of the rule No.4 of the President of the CSO dated 16th February 2010(Journal of Laws CSO No. 2, item 8).

& regulations, guidelines, orders the President of the CSO and organizational rules and regulations of the SO in Zielona Gora dated 1th March 2010.

 According to above documents main duties of the SO in Zielona Gora include:

• organization and conducting statistical surveys, including national censuses,
• collection, preservation and elaboration of data for statistical surveys conducted by the president Central Statistical Office,
• making the results of surveys available and disseminating them,
• administering - in the part concerning Lubuskie Voivodship - country official registers:

  REGON - units of the national economy,
  TERYT - territorial division,

• the Office is responsible for the following specilized statistical tasks carried out across the country for the benefit of general overview of public statistics:  
  • conducting methodological research and organizing economic trends surveys,
  • cooperation with institutions, universities and scientific cirkles in respect to research preparation as well as statistical analyses of economic trends research,
  • administering design and programming works as well as processing of economic trends surveys.
